Maurice Greene took a moment to gather his thoughts before Saturday's Invitational 100 meter dash during the Gold Zone portion of the Kansas Relays.

John Capel, left, and Mark Jelks, right, flanked Greene as the trio raced to the finish line in the Invitational 100 meters dash.

At the line, Capel celebrated his victory before 24,200 fans, the second largest Relays crowd.

John Capel soaked in the adulation of the big crowd.

Former KU great Leo Bookman, top, powered through the curve and went on to win the Invitational 200 meter dash.

Marion Jones thrilled the Kansas Relays crowd with her anchor leg in the Invitational 800 meter relay.

Jones acknowledged the cheers from the appreciative crowd along the home stretch.

Maurice Greene came back to anchor the winning Invitational 400 meter relay team.

Greene then spent some time up close and personal with his fans.

Dominique Arnold, left, set a world-best-time in the Invitational 110 meter hurdles finishing in 13.33. Arnold was named the Relays' outstanding male athlete.

LaShinda Demus won the Invitational 100 meter hurdles in a time of 12.93.

Muna Lee captured the Invitational 100 meter dash and the Relays' outstanding female award.

April Steiner cleared 13-11.25 to win the women's Invitational pole vault.

KU's NCAA champion Any Linnen was second in the vault.

KU's Brooklyn Hann won the triple jump with a leap of 43-3.75.

Matt Hemingway was focused on victory in the Invitational high jump Saturday.

Jacob Pauli began his ride to victory in the Invitational pole vault.

Gwen Wentland floated over the bar to win the Invitational high jump.

Olympian Amy Acuff finished second in the high jump.

Jeremy Mims gave KU a victory in the 800 meter run.

KU's Benson Chesang sprang the upset to win the Invitational mile run.

Jamie Beyer powered his way through the ring to win the Gold Zone shot put.

Egle Uljas dominated the women's 800 meter run.
