Big Jay and Baby Jay Participate in Mascot Games
Aug. 22, 2012
ORLANDO, Fla. – Kansas’ mascots Big Jay and Baby Jay traveled all the way to Florida this summer to be a part of this year’s annual Celebrity Mascot Games. In the three day event from July 19-21, 27 mascots from the MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA and AFL gathered to put on a show and represent their team for their biggest fans. Proceeds from the Celebrity Mascot Games went to the non-profit charity, New Hope for Kids, raising nearly $300,000. Mascots were divided into five teams and battled it out in wacky competitions to ultimately decide the king mascot. Over 15,000 kids and parents attended the unique experience held at the Amway Center and Stetson University in Orlando.
