Originally founded as the Outland Club in 1949 by Dick, Skipper and Odd Williams, the Williams Education Fund (WEF) is the official fundraising department for Kansas Athletics.
2012 OUTDOOR Earned one of two American pole vault spots at the World Junior Games (7/10) in Barcelona after claiming a runner-up finish at the U.S. Junior Championships (6/15)... Finished in a tie for 11th in his qualification flight at the World Junior Games with his vault 4.95 meters (16-3.00 ft.)... Was the highest-finishing KU pole vaulter the Big 12 Championships (5/13) where he set a personal best with his clearance of 5.16 meters (16-11.00 ft.) and finishing tied for seventh... Top finish of the year came at the Baker Relays (3/24) where he vaulted 4.70 meters (15-05.00 ft.) to place third.
2012 INDOOR Recorded a personal best vault and a ninth-place finish with his mark of 5.20 meters (17-00.75 ft.) at the New Balance Invitational (2/14)... Earned third-place finishes twice on the season, the first coming at the Kansas vs. Missouri Dual (1/13) where he notched a top clearance of 5.10 meters (16-08.75 ft.) and the second at the Jayhawk Classic (1/27) where vaulted 5.06 meters (19-07.25 ft.).
HIGH SCHOOL Kansas 5A state pole vault champion his senior year with a meet-record height clearance of 16-6 ft... School record holder with a top vault of 17-01 ft., which is also second-best all-time in the state of Kansas and ranked fifth in the nation in 2011. PERSONAL Son of Mark and Jane Bowen... Has two older brothers, Justin (23) and Derek (27)... Majoring in sport management.
