2009 OUTDOOR: Had six top-five performances as a multi-event athlete, including fifth place in the decathlon at the Kansas Relays (April 15) with 6,320 points, which was a career-best score...Finished seventh in the 400 meters at the Big 12 Championships (May 15), with a career-best 49.47...Took first at the Kansas Relays (April 15) in the same event...Finished third in the discus at the Kansas Relays with a season-best throw of 38.99 meters (127-11 ft.)...Placed ninth at the Big 12 Championships in the shot put, with a career-best mark of 12.88 meters (42-03.25 ft.)...Named to the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team. 2009 INDOOR: Posted his career-best heptathlon score of 4,706 at the Big 12 Championships (Feb. 28)...Set personal records in nine different events, including 14.20 meters (46-07.25 ft.) in the shot put, which was good for a third-place finish at the Big 12 Championships...Ran a career-best 2:43.50 in the 1,000 meters at the league meet to finish fourth...Posted a career-best high jump mark of 1.87 meters (6-01.50 ft.) to finish seventh at the Husker Invitational (Feb. 6). 2008 OUTDOOR: Posted 12 top-10 finishes in 10 different events...Took home second place in the discus at the Kansas Relays with a personal-best throw of 39.37 meters (129-02 ft.)...Achieved a personal-best decathlon score of 6,077 at the Kansas Relays, good for an eighth-place finish...Placed third in the 400 meters at the Kansas Relays with a time of 50.74...Finished third in the shot put at the John Jacobs Invitational after a throw of 11.40 meters (37-05 ft.)...Earned a fourth-place finish in the 1,500 meters at the Kansas Relays with a time of 4:41.75...Also placed fourth at the Kansas Relays in the javelin, throwing 44.85 meters (147-02 ft.)...Recorded seventh-place finishes at the Kansas Relays in the 110-meter hurdles (16.63) and the high jump (1.75 meters [5-08.75 ft.]). 2008 INDOOR: Competed in the heptathlon for the first time during the indoor season...Placed 11th at the ISU Classic with 4,346 points...Finished 10th at the Husker Invitational with 4,311 points...Ran a personal best time of 51.51 in the 400 meters at the Arkansas Invitational. 2007 OUTDOOR: Had the best shot put of any Jayhawk with a toss of 11.47 meters (37-07.75 ft.) at the Kansas Relays...Competed in six different events for the Jayhawks; the 400-meter run, long jump, discus, javelin, shot put and decathlon...Had a season-best in the 400 meter-run at the Tulsa Duels with a time of 51.44...Also had a season-best discus throw at the Tulsa Duels with a distance of 37.61 meters (123-04.75 ft.). 2007 INDOOR: Ran in just one event as a freshman...Finished with a time of 52.08 in the 400-meter run at the Jayhawk Invitational. HIGH SCHOOL: Had a personal-best toss in the discus of 50.47 meters (165-07 ft.) and had a personal-best time in the 400-meter run of 49.90. PERSONAL: Son of Conni and Daniel Breth...Chose KU because of the Air Force ROTC...Majoring in business management. |
