2009 OUTDOOR: Posted a season-best vault of 4.90 meters (16-00.75 ft.) at the Kansas Relays (April 17) and Big 12 Championships (May 16)...Took fourth at the John Jacobs Invitational (April 11) and Arkansas Twilight (May 1), where he cleared 4.75 meters (15-07.00 ft.). 2009 INDOOR: Utilized redshirt season. 2008 OUTDOOR: Utilized redshirt season. 2008 INDOOR: Competed in the pole vault in five meets...Placed fourth at the Jayhawk Classic with a season-best vault of 4.82 meters (15-09.75 ft.). 2007 OUTDOOR: Had a career-best vault of 4.90 meters (16-01 ft.) at the Kansas Relays, finishing ninth...Improved his vault in each meet he participated in. 2007 INDOOR: Competed in the pole vault at five meets...Had his best performance as a Jayhawk at the Big 12 Championships, vaulting 4.92 meters (16-01.75 ft.) and finishing in 15th place...Finished seventh at the Illini Invitational with a vault of 4.60 meters (15-01 ft.). AT LINDENWOOD: Qualified for both the Indoor and Outdoor NAIA National Championships...Placed 10th at Outdoor Nationals with a vault of 4.75 meters (15-07 ft.). HIGH SCHOOL: Placed third in the pole vault at the state championships during his junior year and placed second in his senior year. PERSONAL: Son of Becky and vertical jumps coach Tom Hays...Father was also a pole vaulter at Kansas...Majoring in economics. |
