2009 OUTDOOR: Competed in three meets for KU, posting his best high jump of 2.05 meters (6-08.75 ft.) at the Big 12 Championships (May16)...Took fourth at the Kansas Relays (April 18) with a mark of 2.00 meters (6-06.75 ft.). 2009 INDOOR: Jumped in five events during the indoor season...His best performance was at the Big 12 Championships (Feb. 28), where he cleared 2.00 meters (6-06.75 ft.) to take 13th...Jumped 1.99 meters (6-06.25 ft.) to finish second at the KU vs. MU Duel (Jan. 16). 2008 OUTDOOR: Recorded two seventh-place finishes in the high jump (Arkansas Twilight and Missouri Relays) and a 14th-place finish at the Big 12 Championships with a season-best jump of 2.00 meters (6-06.25 ft.). 2008 INDOOR: Competed in the high jump five times...Had a season-best jump of 1.95 meters (6-04.75 ft.) at the Tyson Invitational. 2007 OUTDOOR: Competed in the high jump and the 110-meter hurdles...Set a career-best mark at the Tulsa Duels with a high jump of 1.93 meters (6-04 ft.) before topping that effort with a jump of 1.95 meters (6-04.75 ft.) at the Arkansas Twilight, where he finished fourth...Finished 23rd at the Kansas Relays in the high jump with an effort of 1.90 meters (6-02.75 ft.). 2007 INDOOR: Led the Jayhawks in the high jump as a freshman...Had his best performance at the Jayhawk Invitational with a high jump of 2.03 meters (6-08 ft.), where he finished third...Finished sixth at the K-State All-Comers meet with a high jump of 2.00 meters (6-06.25 ft.) HIGH SCHOOL: During his senior year, he was the Eastern Kansas League champion in the high jump and 300-meter hurdles and runner-up in 110-meter hurdles...Part of a team that captured the Eastern Kansas League crown during his senior year...Regional champion and state qualifier in high jump, 300-meter hurdles and 110-meter hurdles. PERSONAL: Son of Regina and Ron Scherzer...Favorite track and field athlete of all-time is Stefan Holm...Majoring in physical therapy. |
