NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Kansas men's track and field team placed third at the 2005 Midwest Regionals, while the KU women's team took sixth place in Norman, Okla., on Saturday. Senior Jeremy Mims was the Jayhawks top men's finisher. Mims took second-place in the 800-meters with a personal best time of 1:46.51. Junior thrower Sheldon Battle, who won the shot put and the discus in Friday's events, placed fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 206-09. Battle will compete in all three events at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
