On his last attempt in hammer competition, Sheldon Battle unleashed a throw of 210 feet to capture the Big 12 title.

Teammate Colin Dutton, fifth in the event, rushed to the ring to congratulate Battle.

Battle leaped in celebration as his winning distance was announced.

In the women's hammer throw, Jen Widerstrom set a school record with her throw of 189-9, good for second in the competition.

Denita Miller unleashed a throw in the javelin competition in which she finished sixth.

Megan Foster finished seventh in the javelin throw.

Benson Chesang ran beside his brother late in the 10,000 meter run before dropping to third behind Mathew Chesang.

Paige Higgins circled the Kansas State track 25 times to finish seventh in the 10,000 meters.
