KU's Tyler Kelly and teammates battled with Kansas State's Mathew Chesang during Saturday's KSU Cross Country Invitational in Topeka. Kelly finished third behind Chesang.
Matt French's and Josh Madathil's fourth and fifth place finishes helped the Jayhawks win the men's title.
Connie Abbott's 12th place finish was the Jayhawks' top finisher in the women's race.
Laura Major, left, followed Abbott to finish 16th.
