Kansas’ win over Missouri…

 

…makes the Jayhawks 24-14-1, marking the first time KU is as many as 10 games over .500 this season.

…improves the Jayhawks to 3-0 against Missouri at Kauffman Stadium.

…makes the all-time series record 195-125-2 in favor of Missouri.

improves the Jayhawks record at neutral sites to 5-1 this season.

…improves Ritch Price’s record at Kansas to 265-207-2 and to 482-425-3 overall in Division I.

…improves the Jayhawks record to 6-5 overall in major league ballparks.

…extends the Jayhawks winning streak to four games.

 

 

Notes

 

--With its defeat of Missouri, Kansas recorded its first 1-0 victory since defeating Oklahoma on March 27, 1983.

 

--The Jayhawks have collected an 11-4 record in contests played on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

--KU improves to 21-1-1 when it leads the game after six innings this season.

 

--Kansas recorded a shutout for the first time since defeating Baker 16-0 on March 24, 2010. Wednesday’s game marks the first Division I opponent KU has shut out this season.

 

--The Jayhawks have played Missouri three times at Kauffman Stadium and recorded shutouts in two of the games. KU also blanked the Tigers in 2008 3-0.

 

--Neither team drew a walk in the game, marking the second time in five games KU has failed to draw a base on balls.

 

--Senior second baseman Robby Price went hitless in a game for the first time since March 17, snapping a 22-game hitting streak, which is the third-longest in KU history.

 

--Sophomore catcher James Stanfield collected his first RBI since March 26, with a run-scoring single in the second inning.

 

--Freshman Thomas Taylor tied a career-high with eight strikeouts.

 

--Taylor, in his last four outings, has pitched 14 innings, allowing no runs on seven hits with no walks and 19 strikeouts.

 

--The freshman threw first-pitch strikes to 11 of the 20 men he faced. He also retired the lead-off hitter in five of the six innings he started.

 

--Senior relief pitcher Travis Blankenship recorded his first career save in Wednesday’s game.
