John Allman pounded the ball into the ground and up the middle to drive in two runs for KU in the fifth inning.

Ryotaro Hayakawa saw relief action in the seventh inning.

Middle reliever Andy Marks helped himself with his defense.

Brendan McNamara got the start for the Jayhawks.

The KU bench congratulated Gus Milner after he scored.

Erik Morrison doubled in the sixth inning to drive in one of his two RBI's.

Prior to the game, Director of Athletics Lew Perkins honored KU shortstop Ritchie Price for playing in over 200 consecutive games.

Price was congratulated later for an outstanding defensive play.

Price had three hits and scored three runs.

Coach Ritch Price watched the Jayhawks build their lead.

Second baseman Jared Schweitzer completed a double play.

A crowd of 2,324 - the largest in Hoglund Ballpark history - watched KU defeat Wichita State 8-2.
