IRVING, Texas -

For the second straight week, Kansas senior second baseman Robby Price has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week. This marks the first time in Jayhawk history that a player has been named conference player of the week in consecutive weeks.

Price, a senior from Lawrence, Kan., hit .550 in five games last week, helping Kansas go 3-1-1. He extended his season-best hitting streak to 13 games with multiple-hit games in four of KU’s five contests. The senior collected five doubles and one homer with eight runs scored and eight RBIs.

Price had a two-run double in the seventh inning to help KU overcome a four-run deficit against Arkansas-Little Rock on Tuesday, and then hit a two-run homer as KU built a 6-0 lead on Missouri State Wednesday. In KU’s weekend series against No. 22 Texas A&M, the senior went 7-for-12 with three doubles and four RBIs, including the game-tying RBI in the ninth inning of Saturday’s 8-8 tie.

Over the past 10 games, Price has hit .513 with seven doubles, two triples, two homers and 20 RBIs with a .949 slugging percentage and a .588 on-base percentage.

Oklahoma State pitcher Thomas Keeling was named the conference’s Pitcher of the Week.

Price and the Jayhawks (18-10-1) will take on Missouri Valley College Tuesday at 6 p.m., before traveling to Omaha, Neb., to face Creighton in a 6:30 p.m. game Wednesday, which can be seen on CBS College Sports.
