Sean Richardson blast over the left field wall in the second inning got KU off to a fast start Friday night against Texas.

Starting pitcher Sean Land held the Longhorns' offense at bay.

Hoglund Ballpark sported its fully-completed scoreboard and new indoor hitting facility.

Jared Schweitzer homered in the fifth inning to put KU back in front 2-1.

Coach Ritch Price congratulated Schweitzer after his home run.

Ryne Price beat a sweeping tag at second base on his steal attempt in the fifth inning.

Gus Milner slid into home with KU's fourth run after the Texas leftfielder lost a fly ball in the setting sun in the fifth inning of the game televised by ESPNU.

In the seventh, Matt Baty slid under the tag with a steal of second that led to KU's fifth run.

Coach Ritch Price leaned in for a close look at the late-innning action.

The large crowd enloyed the KU victory over nationally-ranked Texas.

KU players were to quick to congratulate Don Czyz after the relieiver closed out the KU victory.
