 Ricky Fairchild started for the Jayhawks.
Pitching coach Ryan Graves conferred with Fairchild.

 Brendan McNamara made his second relief appearance against Hawaii during the regional.

 Paul Smyth was KU's thrid pitcher.
Don Czyz capped his stellar career with an appearance in the ninth inning.

 Left fielder John Allman raced to the fence trying to catch a foul ball.

 Allman hit the dirt to avoid the fence pole.
Matt Baty tried to lay down a bunt.

 Eric Morrison raced to first base.

 Morrison tagged out a Hawaii runner at third base.
Ritchie Price forced a runner at second base.

 Price made an off-balance throw to first base.

 The Jayhawks wore their rally hats in the ninth inning.
Coach Price congratulated the Hawaii players after the game.
