Follow Hoglund Ballpark Renovation on Web Cam
June 23, 2010 LAWRENCE, Kan. - Fans can follow the installation of AstroTurf at Hoglund Ballpark on the park’s web cam link, which is located at the top of this story. The project to give Hoglund Ballpark a completely new playing surface began in early June and is expected to be complete by the end of the summer. The project is being executed by AstroTurf USA which is installing their Gameday 3D playing surface, which is the offical turf of Major League Baseball. The project, which is completely funded by donations to the baseball program, will cost approximately $1.2 million when completed. KU will become the fourth team in the Big 12 to play its home games on artificial turf, joining Texas, Texas Tech and Kansas State. KUAthletics.com will also provide panoramic-style pictures of the progress of the project throughout the next month.
