Kansas Baseball Holds First Scrimmages
Sept. 25, 2012
Senior catcher Alex DeLeon and sophomore outfielder Michael Suiter each had four hits, while several Jayhawk pitchers, including sophomores Colin Toalson and Drew Morovick tossed a pair of scoreless innings as the Jayhawks kicked off Fall Ball with three scrimmages over the weekend at Hoglund Ballpark. Along with the two sophomore pitchers from last season, freshmen Junior Mustain and Tyler Watson as well as junior transfer Jordan Piche' also recorded multi-inning appearances without allowing runs. "It was a good opening weekend for us," Kansas head coach Ritch Price said. "Our infield play was very good and we pitched pretty well. It was a great way to start off fall practices." Kansas will work out again today and hold more scrimmages this weekend.
