LAWRENCE, Kan. – Sophomore Michael Suiter went 6-for-10 with two doubles, a triple and five RBIs, while fellow sophomore Drew Morovick pitched five scoreless innings as Kansas baseball held its penultimate weekend of scrimmages at Hoglund Ballpark.

Suiter led the offense in the scrimmages, going 3-for-5 in both games. He collected a double and three RBIs in Friday’s contest and chipped in a double and a triple and two RBIs Sunday. Sophomore Joe Moroney went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Friday’s game, while Justin Protacio, Alex DeLeon and Ka’iana Eldredge also enjoyed two-hit games.


On the mound, Morovick scattered five hits over five scoreless innings in Friday’s scrimmage. Second-year left-handed pitcher Wes Benjamin allowed three hits and walked two, but did not allow a run in four innings, while freshman Hayden Edwards and Jordan Piche’ also had clean scorecards in relief appearances.


Kansas will conclude its 45-day fall practice schedule this weekend, but will begin holding the 10 allowed practices before their foreign trip on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
