Kansas Baseball Completes Fall Scrimmages
Dec. 3, 2012 Box Score 11-29 LAWRENCE, Kan. – Freshman Colby Wright went 3-for-6 with a triple and three runs scored, while sophomore relief pitcher Colin Toalson tossed three scoreless innings as Kansas baseball wrapped up its fall scrimmages on Thursday and Friday at Hoglund Ballpark.
The Jayhawks held their regular fall practices in September and October and were given 10 extra practices for their foreign tour to the Dominican Republic, which the team completed in November.
Along with Wright, sophomore Joe Luvisi went 2-for-2 in Friday’s game and collected a pair of RBIs, while senior Jordan Dreiling recorded three stolen bases in the two games. Sophomore Connor McKay also added two stolen bases and an RBI on a sacrifice fly.
On the mound, Toalson had a three-inning appearance, while junior Jordan Piche’ had a pair of single-inning scoreless outings. Freshman Junior Mustain (two innings) and sophomore Drew Morovick (one inning) also recorded perfect outings.
KU will return to action on Dec. 16 when it takes on the Kansas City Royals Dominican team in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic.
