Kansas' Tyrel Reed Makes Capital One Academic All-District Team
Feb. 3, 2011 LAWRENCE, Kan. - By earning this distinction, Reed will now appear on the national ballot as a candidate for Capital One Academic All-America honors, which will be selected later this month. If selected, Reed would become the 20th player in Reed also has a chance to become the second-straight Jayhawk men’s basketball player to be named Academic All-American of the Year after Cole Aldrich earned that distinction last year. If chosen, Reed would be the third Jayhawk to receive the top honor recognizing student-athletes for their combined performance on the floor and in the classroom, as Jacque Vaughn was named Academic All-American of the Year in 1997.
