Kansas’ ­­­win over Siena…

-Improves the Jayhawks to 11-3 on the season.

-Gives Kansas 33 straight wins at Allen Fieldhouse, the fourth longest current home winning streak in NCAA Division I basketball.

-Was Bill Self’s 500^th career game.  Self is now 153-35 at KU, 360-140 overall, and 1-0 against Siena.

-Makes Kansas 1,954-788 all-time.

Notes

-In the first half Kansas trailed for the first time in two games after a Siena lay-up at 19:08. It was the first time in 80:52 that the Jayhawks had trailed. Kansas would regain the lead at 3-2, but would fall behind 5-9. Kansas would trail for a total of 2:57 before freshman Marcus Morris evened the score  at 9-9 with a jumper with 15:16 remaining in the first half. The Jayhawks regained the lead at 14:25 with a Brady Morningstar three-pointer that put Kansas up for good.

-After falling behind 5-9 in the first half, Kansas went on a 25-1 run, over 6:42 of play, to push the Jayhawk lead to 30-10 before Siena’s Clarence Jackson hit back-to-back three-point baskets shortening the Kansas lead to 30-16 with 9:04 to play in the half.

-Freshman Travis Releford hit his third three-point basket of the season as part of KU’s 25-1 run. Releford is now three-of-four from behind the arc on the season.

-Junior college transfer Mario Little scored his first point as a Jayhawk in the first half. Sinking one-of-two free throw opportunities, Little finished the half with one point.

-Kansas’ 51 points at halftime was the most points the Jayhawks have scored in the first half of a game since scoring 51 against Texas Tech on March 3, 2008. Kansas went on to win 109-51. Siena’s 38 first half points were the most Kansas has allowed an opponent all season.

-With 24 points, sophomore Cole Aldrich set a new career-high in that category. Aldrich also had 13 rebounds giving him his eighth double-double on the season.

-Sophomore Tyrel Reed recorded a new career-high with 14 points. Reed’s previous high was 12 points, which he scored three times this season, the last being on December 30, against Albany. Reed also set a career high in free throw attempts and free throws made going 6-for-6 from the line. Reed is now 20-of-21 on the season.

-Markieff Morris tied his career high for blocks. The freshman had three blocks in the contest.

-Sophomore Brady Morningstar set a career high with two blocks on the night.

-Kansas’ 12 turnovers were the third fewest by the Jayhawks this season. Kansas turned the ball over only eight times against Arizona and just 10 against Coppin State.

-Siena’s 84 points tied for the third most by a Kansas opponent this season. Kansas gave up 89 in an overtime loss to Syracuse and 84 in a loss at Arizona. Kansas allowed 85 points in its win over Tennessee on Saturday.

-Siena’s 10 three-pointers in the game were tied for the most by a Kansas opponent this season. Kansas surrendered 10 three-pointers to both Temple and New Mexico State this season.

-Siena set Kansas opponent highs this season for field goals (32), field goal attempts (67) and assists (19).

-Siena’s Ronald Moore recorded seven assists in the second half. His seven assists marks the most assists in a half by a Kansas opponent since D.J. Augustin dished out 8 dimes in the first half on March 3, 2007.
