Notes

  • Freshman Mario Chalmers recorded career-highs in points (23) and rebounds (five).  He also tied a career high with eight free throws.  With three steals in the game, he moved into second all-time for steals by a freshman (61), passing Aaron Miles (60).
  • Chalmers' 100 percent free throw shooting (8-of-8) tied a Kansas individual season high.
  • Freshman Brandon Rush recorded a career-high three steals.
  • Freshman Julian Wright set a career-high with nine boards and tied a career-high with four blocks.
  • Sophomore C.J. Giles' seven free throws and 10 free throw attempts were career-highs.
  • Kansas is shooting 76.5 percent (114-of-149) from the charity stripe over its last six games.
  • Kansas shot 50 percent from the field for the sixth time in its last eight games and 10 of its last 14 (11 times overall).
  • Iowa State's 33.3 free throw percentage was the lowest by an opponent in a conference game since Kansas State shot 25 percent on Feb. 12, 1994.  This set a new Kansas opponent season low for free throw percentage.
  • Iowa State set Kansas opponent season-highs for field goals (32), field goal percentage (45.7) and two-point field goals (25).
