Kansas'win over Texas...

...Gave KU its ninth overall and fifth Big 12 Championship title.

...Improved KU to 30-4 on the season, matching the most KU victories since the 2003 Final Four season (30-8).

...Extended Kansas' winning streak to a season-long 11 games -- the second longest in the Bill Self era behind a 14-game winning streak during the 2004-05 season.

...Gave KU a 9-5 all-time record in league tournament championship games, including a 5-1 mark in Big 12 tourney finals.

...Improved Kansas to 52-22 in league tournament play including 22-6 at the Big 12 Championship.

...Made KU 14-2 away from Allen Fieldhouse in 2006-07 (8-2 away, 6-0 neutral).

...Made Kansas 5-1 all-time in the Ford Center and 6-2 overall in games played in Oklahoma City.

...Made Bill Self 102-28 in four seasons at Kansas, 309-133 in his career and 17-7 (8-2 at Kansas) in conference tournaments.

...Made Kansas 1,903-781 all-time.

 

 

Notes

-          Kansas came back from a 22-point deficit to represent the largest deficit overcome this season.  The previous largest deficit overcome was 16 against Texas in the regular season finale.

-          Kansas' 22-point comeback was its largest comeback to win in the Bill Self era and at least as far back as the 1988-89 season. It surpassed a 19-point comeback against UCLA on Dec. 19, 1992.

-          Freshman Sherron Collins recorded his third career 20+ scoring game of his career with 20 points.  It marked the 16th time this season a KU player scored at least 20 points with the last being Mario Chalmers' 21 against Texas in the regular season finale.

-          Kansas moved to 3-0 in overtime games this season.  The Jayhawks also defeated Florida and Iowa State in overtime.

-          The game was Kansas' first overtime contest in conference tournament history and the first ever in any Big 12 title game.

-          Kansas trailed at halftime for the sixth time this season and moved to 4-2 in those contests.

-          Kansas moved to 17-2 when using the starting lineup of Russell Robinson, Mario Chalmers, Sasha Kaun, Brandon Rush and Julian Wright.

-          The Jayhawks improved to 45-6 in their last 51 games.

-          KU has held opponents to less than 50 percent shooting from the field in 40 straight games and 69 of its last 70 contests.

-         KU outscored UT 28-9 in bench scoring.  Kansas' bench has outscored 22 of its last 26 opponents.

-         The Jayhawks have outshot 30 of 34 opponents from the field this season.
