Vs. Pittsburg State, Nov. 1, 2007

 

- With the win, Kansas has won 27 straight home exhibition games... KU is now 45-7 all-time in exhibition games... KU improved to 41-4 in exhibition games in Allen Fieldhouse... KU improved to 13-0 in exhibition games under Bill Self... KU is now 4-0 against Pittsburg State in exhibition games (4-0 in regular season games).

 

- Kansas scored 55 points in the first half.  Last year KU scored 50 points in a half nine times with a high of 56 in the second half against Nebraska.

 

- KU scored 94 points in the game and reached 90 points eight times last season.

 

-  KU shot 53.2 percent from the field.  Last year's best field goal percentage was 59.5 percent vs. Southern Illinois.

 

- Nine Jayhawks that played in the game made their first attempt (they were nine of the first 11 KU players to put up shots). 

 

- KU had four players score in double figures, its most since having five reach double-digits against Niagara in game last year (none in the last four games of last year's regular season).

 

- Mario Chalmers made his first four three-pointers before missing one late in the first half.  His career high three-pointers made is five vs. Texas last year.

 

- Sherron Collins missed his first two shots before making seven of eight the rest of the way.

 

- Sherron Collins led KU in scoring.  Last season he led the team in scoring in five games.

 

- Rodrick Stewart scored 11 points.  His KU career high is eight scored against Dartmouth in 2006, while his collegiate career high is 14 (twice while playing at USC).

 

- Darrell Arthur attempted a three-pointer.  He was 0 of seven from three-point range last year.

 

Runs During The First Half

-          Pittsburg State had outscored KU 6-5 right before the Jayhawks hit three straight three pointers to make the score 35-15 (score was 26-15).  The three-pointers were by Chalmers (2) and Reed (1).

-          After Pitt State scored seven straight points to cut the margin to 35-22, KU went on a 10-0 run to gain a 45-22 advantage.

-          KU closed the first half on a 7-0 run.

 

- Kansas will close out its exhibition season with a game against Fort Hays State on Nov. 6.
