Selby Earns Second Conference Rookie of the Week Honors

LAWRENCE, Kan. - For the second time this season, Kansas basketball freshman Josh Selby has been selected the Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week for games played Jan. 24-30 in voting by a panel of media covering the Conference. Selby averaged 14.5 points as the Jayhawks bounced back from their first loss of the year to post an 82-78 victory at Colorado and a 90-66 home win over Kansas State. The freshman guard had 17 points versus the Buffaloes on 7-of-14 (.500) shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. He added 12 points on 4-of-6 (.667) shooting against the Wildcats, connecting on all three of his attempts from beyond the arc. In two games, he totaled seven rebounds, nine assists and one steal in 52 minutes. Selby is third on his team in scoring with 11.8 points per game, an average that ranks third among all Big 12 freshmen. Selby also earned rookie of the week honors on Dec. 20.
