Mario Chalmers battled for the ball after he knocked it away from Iowa State's Will Blaylock.

 Chalmers was congratulated for his outstanding play by the KU bench.

 Chalmers finished the day with 23 points.
Brandon Rush put up a shot in traffic. Rush scored 26 points.

 C.J. Giles pulled down four rebounds and scored nine points for KU.

 Darnell Jackson raced downcourt.
Jackson came up with 10 points and five rebounds.

 Russell Robinson tangled with John Neal.

 Robinson put the defensive clamps on Curtis Stinson.
Robinson split two Cyclones for a basket.

 Brandon Rush floated in for a basket.

 Rush fired a jumper from the top of the key.
Coach Bill Self cheered after the KU defense force a double dribble by ISU's Stinson.

 Coach Self seemed satisfied with an officials explanation of the double technical.

 KU fans brought special Valentines for the team.
