Marcus Morris named USBWA All-American

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Each of the first-team selections is among the Oscar Robertson Trophy finalists. The USBWA's National Player of the Year Award will be announced Monday, March 28 and presented on Friday, April 1 at the 2011 USBWA College Basketball Awards Breakfast at the Morris leads the Jayhawks in scoring at 17.3 points per game, which ranks fifth in the Big 12. He ranks second on the team in rebounds per game (7.2) and blocks (21). Morris ranks second in the Big 12 in field goal percentage at 58.7 percent. Morris has led KU in every statistical category at least once this season. He has been named Big 12 Player of the Week three times (Nov. 29, Jan. 17 and Feb. 14) and was named a Wooden Award Mid-Season candidate Jan. 6 and Naismith Mid-Season candidate Feb. 11. Morris was also recently named one of 10 finalists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy on Feb. 28 presented by the USBWA.
