Men's Basketball Wins Magazine's Academic Performance Tournament
March 15, 2010
LAWRENCE, Kan. -
The Kansas men's basketball team has won the 2010 Inside Higher Ed magazine's Academic Performance Tournament. The magazine annually "conducts" a competition, using the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship bracket, based on what the tournament would look like if teams advanced based solely on their performance in the classroom. The magazine based results on the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate (APR), which rewards programs based on academic success and retention. The Jayhawks' most recent APR is 1,000, the highest score possible. Log on to http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2010/03/15/ncaa to see the entire bracket and the accompanying story.
