Raucous Crowd Welcomes Jayhawks Home
March 31, 2008
LAWRENCE, Kan. - An estimated 6,000 screaming Kansas fans welcomed the Jayhawks home to Allen Fieldhouse at 1 a.m. Monday morning after KU's 59-57 victory over Davidson Sunday. The win put Kansas in the Final Four where it will face North Carolina Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The festive crowd was treated to a highlight video and was able to see the Midwest Regional championship trophy and hear from head coach Bill Self and several players. "As much as you appreciate us, know that we appreciate you also," Self said. "This is proof we have the greatest fans in the country," added senior Sasha Kaun.
