LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas men's basketball's trio of sophomore Darrell Arthur and juniors Mario Chalmers and Brandon Rush were honored by the Associated Press on Monday as Honorable Mention All-Americans.
This is the second-straight AP Honorable Mention All-America honor for Rush. The Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player is Kansas' leading scorer at 13.1 points per game. After missing the first two games of the season, Rush also leads the team with 78 three-pointers.
Chalmers is averaging 12.7 points per game, tied for second on the team with Arthur, to go along with a team-leading 90 steals and 163 assists. His 90 steals placed him fifth on Kansas' all-time single-season steals list. The Anchorage, Alaska, native was a preseason Honorable Mention All-American by the AP.
Arthur has scored in double-figures on 26 occasions this season, including four double-doubles. The Dallas, Texas, native is tied for the team-lead in blocks and led the Jayhawks in scoring for much of the year.
Entering their 13th Final Four in school history, the Jayhawks will continue their season against North Carolina on Saturday in San Antonio, Texas. Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 7:47 p.m. (CST).
