Aug. 31, 2009
LAWRENCE, Kan. – More than 100 golfers participated in the annual Bill Self Boy Scout Classic at Lawrence Country Club Monday afternoon.
“Anytime you put your name on something that is as positive and does as much for youth that the Boy Scouts has done over time, that’s a nice honor,” Self, the Kansas men’s basketball coach said.
The event supports the more than 1,200 Boy Scouts of Douglas County and raises more than $13,000.
“We’re maxed out once again with more than 100 golfers participating to raise money for a great cause,” Self said.
