Oct. 28, 2011
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Headlined by former Kansas men’s basketball coach Larry Brown, more than 250 basketball coaches attended the annual Bill Self Basketball Coaches Clinic at Allen Fieldhouse Friday.
Gathering in the early afternoon, the clinic opened with a question and answer session from KU assistant athletics director for sport performance Andrea Hudy. From there the group watched the KU men’s basketball team conduct a practice with Brown and Saturday’s headline speaker, former NBA coaching great Jeff Van Gundy, in attendance. Following practice KU head coach Bill Self addressed the clinicians followed by Brown.
On Saturday morning, the clinic continues with KU assistant coaches – Joe Dooley, Kurtis Townsend and Danny Manning – instructing the group followed by Van Gundy. The clinic concludes with another KU men’s basketball practice.
