Entering his third year with the Kansas football program and his first as a graduate assistant is Joseph Fowler. Fowler spent the 2007 season as KU's Quality Control Coordinator after serving as an administrative volunteer in the fall of 2006. Fowler will work on the defensive side of the football in 2008, concentrating on the defensive line. As the quality control coordinator he was responsible for a number of scouting activities, including film breakdown, opponent scouting reports and self-scouting reports. Fowler also spent time at the University of Miami as an administrative volunteer in the spring of 2006 and as a defensive graduate assistant in the spring of 2007. He started his football career as the running backs coach at Bridgton Academy in 2003, where he also worked with quarterbacks, was responsible for team travel and assisted in scouting and game planning for one season. Fowler then coached the defensive line and was the recruiting coordinator at Franklin & Marshall College in 2004 and 2005. He graduated from Coastal Carolina with a degree in Recreation and Leisure Sciences in 2000. Fowler, a St. Francis, Wis. native, graduated from St. Francis High School in 1993. He is married to Kristine Fowler and enjoys spending time in Key West, Fla. and surfing. |
