Career Honors: 2012: Named Academic All-Big 12 First Team, and was one of three football student-athletes to be post a perfect 4.0 GPA. 2011: Named to the team's Dean's List and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA during spring semester.

High School: Was a four-year letterwinner as a running back and linebacker... Earned all-league honors two times on defense and once on offense... Also played basketball and baseball... A two-time all-league selection in baseball... Was his high school's valedictorian.
