11/30/2012 Building the Program: Kansas FootballScott Johnston is entering his second season on the Kansas Football staff. Johnston is in his first year as KU's director of personnel, after spending the 2011 season as the Jayhawks' on-campus recruiting coordinator. As director of personnel, Johnston develops and executes all day-to-day recruiting operations for Kansas Football. He is responsible for planning prospective student-athlete visits, both official and unofficial and also assists in coordinating recruiting efforts and travel arrangements for assistant coaches and head coach Charlie Weis. Johnston came to KU after spending two years as the recruiting operations intern for football at Nebraska. Prior to that, he served as student recruiting assistant for the Cornhuskers. Johnston graduated from NU with a bachelor's degree in biology in December 2008. A native of Papillion, Neb., Johnston is engaged to Ashley Metzler. The couple plan to marry in July 2012. |
