Former KU quarterback inks deal with Baltimore

Kale Pick, a recently graduated Kansas wide receiver, has traded in his cleats for a whistle as he joined the Jayhawk coaching staff as a graduate assistant for offense in May 2012. In his new role Pick works closely with the KU wide receivers and assistant coach Rob Ianello.
A Dodge City, Kan., native, Pick spent the majority of his first two seasons at Kansas playing quarterback before finding a home as a wide receiver. He was the Jayhawks' top pass catcher in 2012 and concluded his career with 63 receptions for 752 yards and two touchdowns.
Pick graduated from KU in December of 2012 with a degree in psychology.

2012 (Sr.): Played in 11 games, starting 10 at wide receiver... Missed the TCU game with an injury... Led the team with 26 catches for 390 yards... Recorded five catches for a career-best 81 yards against South Dakota State, including a career-long 43-yard pass on KU's first play from scrimmage in the season opener... Made two catches for 45 yards at NIU, including a 33-yard reception... Lined up in the "Jayhawk" formation at Kansas State, recording first carries from scrimmage since 2010... Also added two catches for 26 yards against the Wildcats... Tallied four catches for 74 yards against Oklahoma State... Recorded a 42-yard pooch punt against OSU, the first of his career... 2010 (So.): Started the season-opener at quarterback and then played as a reserve at that position in three other games... Played the last two games of the year at wide receiver... First career start at quarterback was against North Dakota State and he was 13 of 22 for 138 yards... Other extensive action was a seven of 12 for 40 yards day against Texas A&M... Was 21 of 36 for 193 yards on the season... As a wide receiver in the final two games he caught three passes for 18 yards... Had two receptions for nine yards against Oklahoma State and one for nine yards against Missouri... Missed some time during the season due to a leg injury.
