In his second year as a graduate assistant coach at Kansas is Tommy Mangino, who will work on the offensive side of the ball. This is Mangino's first coaching position.

Mangino, who graduated from Washburn University in Topeka in May of 2008 with a degree in physical education, was a two-sport athlete at the school. He excelled in baseball and was a two-year starter as a catcher, designated hitter and third baseman.

Mangino was also a backup quarterback on the football team for his two seasons at the school. Prior to playing at Washburn, he played two seasons of baseball at Johnson County Community College.

Mangino played both football and baseball at Lawrence High School as a junior and senior. He was a two-time all-league baseball selection and was an All-Sunflower League Honorable Mention selection in football as a senior.

Mangino is married to the former Danielle Huff.
