Jayhawks Open The 2012 Season With South Dakota State Saturday

Kansas will open the Charlie Weis era by hosting South Dakota State at Memorial Stadium Saturday, Sept. 1 at 6 p.m.

Career Honors: 2012: Earned Academic All-Big 12 Second Team honors... Named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll during spring semester. 2010: KU Offensive Compete Team Player of the Week vs. Southern Mississippi.

2012 (Jr.): Played in 10 games... Missed first two games of season with an injury... Made two catches - against Kansas State and Oklahoma State - for 10 yards on the season... Collected first career reception at Kansas State for eight yards... Added a two-yard catch against Oklahoma State... Recorded a tackle following a turnover at Oklahoma... Collected an assisted tackle on special teams against Texas.

2011 (So.): KU's special teams ace ... Started at fullback in first two games of the season, played in 10 contests ... Made a pair of tackles on special teams at Georgia Tech ... Also added a special teams tackle and a blocked punt at Oklahoma State ... Recorded a 16-yard kick return against Oklahoma ... Had an assisted tackle at Texas ... Recorded a solo tackle on special teams at Iowa State ... Injured in the Baylor game missed remainder of the season ... Did not record a carry from scrimmage this season.
