The University of Kansas announced Thursday it has embarked on a groundbreaking partnership with Oak View Group (OVG), a leader in global sports and entertainment, as the stadium operator for the Gateway District and reimagined David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

Kansas Athletics has announced the dates and times for ‘Hawk Talk’ with Head Baseball Coach Dan Fitzgerald, which begins on Monday, April 29, at 23rd Street Brewery in Lawrence.

Former Kansas men’s basketball standout Joel Embiid has been named to the 2024 USA Basketball Men’s National Team, USA Basketball announced April 17. The team will compete at the Olympic Games in Paris, July 26-Aug. 11, 2024.

The Kansas women’s golf team enters the Big 12 Women’s Championship as the seventh-seed at Houston Oaks Country Club, April 18–20 to open postseason play. 

Kansas freshman guard Johnny Furphy has announced that he has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft. Furphy will retain NCAA eligibility while testing the draft process. Per NCAA rules, student-athletes can participate in the NBA Draft process if withdrawn by May 29.

The Kansas women’s tennis team heads to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for post-season play in the Big 12 tournament. The Jayhawks earned the No. 9 seed and will play the No. 8 seed UCF Knights in the first round on Wednesday, April 17 at 6 p.m. CT.

The Kansas Jayhawks (26-14-1, 11-7 Big 12) take the short trip to Springfield, Missouri, to face Missouri State (10-27, 6-11 MVC) in a midweek game on Wednesday, April 17, at Killian Sports Complex. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. CT as KU will play in its eighth-straight road game.

Kansas Baseball’s game on Tuesday, April 16, against Omaha at Tal Anderson Field has been canceled due to forecasted inclement weather. The game was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.

Kansas super-senior center Taiyanna Jackson will begin her professional career as a member of the Connecticut Sun. The Sun selected Jackson Monday night in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft at pick No. 19.

Riding a four-game winning streak, Kansas will travel to Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday for a matchup against the Omaha Mavericks at 6 p.m. CT at Tal Anderson Field.

Kansas senior outfielder John Nett was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. The Big 12 award is the first of Nett’s career.
