Game Notes:

-  KU's 35 points in the fourth quarter were the second most scored in a fourth quarter to win a game in NCAA history.  The most were BYU's 36 in a 50-36 victory against Washington State in 1990.

-      KU’s 35 points scored in the fourth quarter marked the most scored in a quarter by a Jayhawk team in school history.

-      The 28-point third quarter deficit that KU overcame is the largest in school history.  Previous most was 26-point deficit to Iowa State (trailed 47-21 in thrid quarter) before winning 50-47 in 1992.

-      Kansas’ 45 points allowed in a victory were its most since the Jayhawks defeated Iowa State 50-47 on October 17, 1992, in Ames, Iowa.

-      Kansas QB Quinn Mecham scrambled for 17 yards in the first quarter, which was the longest run of his career.

-      On KU’s drive for a field goal in the first quarter, the Jayhawks went 3-for-4 on third down.

-      Kansas K Jacob Branstetter kicked a field goal in the first quarter, making him 29 of 42 in his career. Branstetter has hit field goals in three consecutive games, including a career-best three last week at Iowa State.

-      CB Tyler Patmon scored on a 28-yard fumble recovery in the fourth quarter. It was KU’s first defensive touchdown since Maxwell Onyegbule scored on a three-yard fumble return against Texas Tech last season.

-      RB James Sims scored four rushing touchdowns Saturday, marking the most rushing touchdowns by a Jayhawk since Jake Sharp ran for four TDs against Kansas State in 2008.

-      Sims’ 123 yards rushing marked a career high, and represented the most by a Jayhawk since Jake Sharp ran for 123 yards against Northern Colorado in the first game of the 2009 season.

-      DE Jake Laptad recorded a quarterback sack for the third-straight game. He now has 19.5 sacks in his career, coming within 0.5 sacks of third-place in school history in career sacks.

-      Kansas CB Isiah Barfield intercepted a Cody Hawkins pass in the second quarter and returned it seven yards. It was Barfield’s second interception of the season and third of his career.

-      Kansas RB James Sims broke off a 21-yard run in the second quarter, which marked his longest since the New Mexico State game, when he also had a 21-yard run.

-      Kansas RB/WR D.J. Beshears scored KU’s first touchdown of the day on an 18-yard pass from QB Quinn Mecham. It marked Beshears’ first career receiving touchdown, and Mecham’s second TD pass in as many weeks.

-      WR Johnathan Wilson caught a 38-yard touchdown from Quinn Mecham, which marked his second-longest reception of the year and Mecham’s longest pass completion this year.

-      Wilson recorded 80 yards receiving, which marked a season high.

-      S Chris Harris recorded a season-high 11 tackles in Saturday’s game, which was the most since he tallied 15 tackles in last year’s Southern Miss game.

-      The winning team in the Kansas-Colorado series has scored at least 30 points in seven of the last nine meetings in the series.
