Jayhawks Put On Pads For Third Spring Practice
March 31, 2012
LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas football head coach Charlie Weis and his Jayhawks went through their third practice of the 2012 spring season here Saturday. KU, who practiced in pads for the first time during this spring season, went through a two and half hour workout inside Memorial Stadium to accommodate the large amount of recruits who were on campus to take part in "Junior Day." Under sunny blue skies, the Jayhawks worked extensively on individual skills before going through several periods of team drills with different variations of the offense going against the defense. The practice ended with a special teams period that concluded with junior kicker Ron Doherty drilling a "pressure" field goal. Kansas will take the remainder of the weekend off before reconvening Monday for lifting and meetings and they will return to the practice fields Tuesday afternoon.
