Parmalee, Quarterbacks Shine At Fan Apprecation Day Practice
Aug. 11, 2012
LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas freshman wide receiver Tre' Parmaleehad a big day Saturday, recording three touchdowns during a morning practice in Memorial Stadium that served as Fan Appreciation Day. Parmalee, an Overland Park, Kan., native, raced to the end zone on a kickoff return, and also hauled in two receiving TDs in his impressive debut in front of Jayhawks fans. KU senior quarterback Dayne Cristalso had a strong showing--notably in the one-one-one drills with the wide receivers going against defensive backs. The quarterback group as a whole had a strong performance in the seven-on-seven portion of practice, at one point completing 11-of-12 passes. The practice concluded with a special teams scrimmage, which was highlighted by Parmalee's return. On his return he made several nice moves, weaving through defenders before sprinting to the end zone. The Jayhawks, along with head coach Charlie Weisand the KU coaching staff, made time for the fans in attendance by signing autographs following the end of the practice. Kansas will open the 2012 season by hosting South Dakota State on Saturday, Sept. 1 in Memorial Stadium. Game time is slated for 6 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by contacting the Kansas Ticket Office at 1-800-34-HAWKS or via the web at KUAthletics.com.
