LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas wide receiver Kerry Meier and safety Darrell Stuckey were named second team, while offensive guard Adrian Mayes, cornerback Chris Harris, and punt receiver Daymond Patterson earned third-team honors on Phil Steele’s Mid-Season All-Big 12 football team which was announced Tuesday.

Meier, a junior, ranks third in the NCAA in receptions per game at 8.80.  He has recorded 53 receptions of which 33 have been for first downs.  Overall, he has 608 receiving yards and three touchdowns on the season.

Stuckey, a junior, is tied for fourth place in the Big 12 with two interceptions in 2008.  He is one of two players (along with Joe Mortensen) to have at least four tackles in every game, and recorded seven tackles in two of the last three games.

Mayes, a senior, has started 19 consecutive games at left guard and has been considered KU’s top offensive lineman this season.

Harris, a sophomore, has 31 tackles on the season  to rank fifth on the team.  He has one interception and two passes broken up as well.

Patterson, a true freshman, returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown against FIU and posted four returns for 135 yards in his first collegiate game.  On the year he has 13 returns for a 14.9 average.
