Football Game Against CU Provided on Pay-Per-View

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Several cable systems and nationwide satellite television services will offer Saturday's Kansas vs. Colorado football game to customers on pay-per-view (see list below). The suggested retail price is $29.95 for the 6 p.m. CST kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 22 from Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado. Big 12 Special Order Sports (Fox Sports Net's pay-per-view division) is producing and distributing the telecast to participating cable television systems in Colorado and nationwide to satellite TV services. The game is being televised on pay-per-view because it was not selected for over-the-air broadcast or cable television coverage. Under Big 12 Conference television rules, games not picked up for regular TV distribution can only be televised on pay-per-view. Sunflower Broadband will be offering the game live on pay-per-view on channel 356. The cost is $29.95 for residential viewers, and a digital cable box is required to order and watch the game. Customers may order the game online at www.sunflowerbroadband.com or by calling 841-2100 - they will NOT be able to order it through the digital cable box. The Sunflower Broadband customer service lobby will be open from 9-5 p.m. Saturday for anyone who wishes to pick up a digital cable box; self-installation is free. Customers may keep the digital cable box free for three months. Businesses wishing to order the game should contact Sunflower Broadband's Business Services at 841-2720 by Friday at 5 p.m. Tim Neverett (play-by-play), Jay Leeuwenburg (analyst) and Dave Benz (sidelines) form the announcing team. Programming providers will offer the telecast to their customers on a specially designated pay-per-view channel. The telecast will not pre-empt Fox Sports Net's regularly scheduled programming.
