 David McMillan forced a Jason White fumble, but the Sooners recovered.
Jermial Ashley pressured Jason White.

 Mark Mangino cheered on the defense.

 Charlton Keith pulled down OU running back Adrian Peterson.
Wide receiver Brandon Rideau broke loose along the sidelines for a long touchdown run.

 Rideau and Gary Heaggans high-fived Rideau's TD.

 Run-game coordinator Ed Warinner was fired up by KU's early success.
Jason Swanson took his snaps at quarterback along with Adam Barmann.
