Mark Simmons' receptions played a key role in KU jumping out to a 14-0 lead against Colorado Saturday afternoon.

Head coach Mark Mangino and quarterback Jason Swanson helped KU get off to a fast start before Swanson left game with in an injury.

Rodney Harris' interception set KU up for their second touchdown.

Fullback Austine Nwabuisi ran for eight yards to Colorado one during KU's second TD drive.

John Nielsen came off the bench to quarterback the Jayhawks.

Charles Gordon (3) was congratulated after his second quarter fumble recovery.

Gordon leaped to intercept a pass on the next series to end another Colorado drive.

Nielsen and a fired-up offense moved the ball quickly downfield on their first possession in the second half.
