LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Kansas junior offensive lineman Trevor Marrongelli was named to the Capitol One CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 football team, it was announced Thursday.

Marrongelli holds a 3.75 grade point average in finance. The Austin, Texas native is also a two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.

On the field, Marrongelli has been a part of one of the top offensive lines in the Big 12 this season. He has started all nine games for the Jayhawks at left guard and the KU offensive line has helped guide an offense that averages 165 yards on the ground per outing and another 188.4 yards through the air.

Marrongelli is now eligible for Academic All-American honors, which will be announced later this month. The Academic All-Big 12 team will also be selected in the coming weeks.
