HIGH SCHOOL: Won the 2001 Kansas 4A State Individual Championship as a member of the state championship team, Topeka-Hayden High School... Topeka City Champion in 2001... Won the 2000 Regional individual championship... Participated in the match play rounds of the 2001 Kansas State Amateur... Placed 10th in the 2001 Kansas Junior Amateur... A four-year golf and two-year soccer letterwinner. PERSONAL: Born on June 20, 1985... Son of Ren and Theresa Newcomer... First thing he learned about golf was "swing easy"... Calls his dad the most influential person in his life because he taught him so much about everything except golf... His other hobbies include "hunting almost anything"... Would most like to play a round of golf with Jack Nicklaus because he says he is the best ever to play the game. |
