Men's Golf Takes Home Title At Roadrunner Intercollegiate

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Kansas men's golf team took home first place, in a 16-team field, at the 2005 Roadrunner Intercollegiate at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas. The Jayhawks shot a final round of 284 to bring home their second title in as many years at the event. "We were lucky to win today," head coach Ross Randall said. "It's nice to win a close one. The guys didn't play their best but we still won and I am very pleased by that." Wichita State finished two strokes behind the Jayhawks followed by Baylor who was five strokes back. Sophomore Tyler Docking led the Jayhawks and tied for second place after he totaled a three round score of 211. Senior Andrew Price and senior Kevin Ward each tied for 10th with a 216. Ward shot a final round 67 which was the low round of the day. Sophomore Gary Woodland tied for 41st with a 223. Junior Pete Krsnich finished with a 225 to tie for 45th. Junior Luke Trammell, playing as an individual,finished tied for 67th with a 232. Kansas will next be in action at the Louisiana Classics Invitational in Lafayette, Louis. on March 7-8.
