Jayhawks Finish Tied for Third at CU-Stevinson Ranch Invitational
March 27, 2007
LAWRENCE, KAN. - The Kansas men's golf team finished in a four-way tie for third place at the CU-Stevinson Ranch Invitational in Turlock, Calif. The Jayhawks shot a final round score of 312 and were able to climb up one spot on the leaderboard. "Today the weather made scoring very difficult and as a result the scores were very high," said head coach Ross Randall. "Both Tyler and Gary were able to play well today but the rest of the guys really struggled with the conditions. We didn't play great today, but we were still able to record a solid finish."
Both junior Joey Mundy and sophomore Walt Koelbel tied for 35th place with a three-round score of 235. Freshman Bobby Knowles shot an 86 in the final round to tie for 70th place. Sophomore Zach Pederson competed as an individual and tied for 55th place with 238 strokes. The Jayhawks will conclude regular season play on April 9-10 at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Talking Stick Golf Club. |
