Final Round Rained Out, Jayhawks Place Second

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The University of Kansas men's golf team took second place after the final round of the 59th Annual Western Intercollegiate was rained out. "We are very dissappointed that we were rained out today," head coach Ross Randall said. "Second place is a very good finish but we wanted the chance to take first in this tournament." The Jayhawks shot rounds of 295 and 289 for a two round total of 584. They were two shots out of first place after Oregon posted a two round score of 582. Senior Kevin Ward tied for third with a 141. Sophomore Gary Woodland tied for 16th with a 146. Sophomore Tyler Docking posted a two round total of 151 and tied for 43rd. Juniors Luke Trammell and Pete Krsnich tied for 51st after each posted a 152. Kansas will next be in action at the Courtyard by Marriot Intercollegiate in Holly Springs, N.C. on April 8-9.
